Thomas gave a heavy sigh as he finished his meal outside the cafe. He hated being on landside leave. He'd been injured in one of the attacks on Salem's ship and was ordered to stay at the closest port. It simply happened to be in Renais and even more simply he would be picked up when they ended up back there. He shook his head then because he was worried about (enter name here) taking over the ship, and he shook his head now due to the same thing. This quartermaster liked doing his job, and he had no desire to stop, either. Salem should know he could keep going even with a bad shoulder wound. He saw him after his enslavement on that ship. If he could handle that and still work through the day, than he should be fine with this one. But the stubborn guy didn't want his shoulder to get infected, or tear open more or anything. In fact, to him it seemed so delicate, he made sure a healer saw to it that it was stitched up instead of just having one of the men do it as usual. Personally, Thomas didn't really think it was that bad, more like a flesh wound, but did as Salem ordered regardless. He knew the man, and fighting was fruitless at that point. However his leave was nonetheless a tired, mumbling old man's sermon in comparison to being on the sea, even when there weren't fights. Thomas needed something to do, but just went to the dock again and watched the ships come and go, dipping his feet in the water and wondering when his home would come back.
