However, a few years ago, he himself was orphaned. And so for the past few years it was just him and Heli. And really, it wasn't very much different before. His parents weren't very active in helping to take care of her, it basically all him before. With one major difference: income. His world very literally revolves around Heli and her well-being, and so he has taken it upon himself to ensure her health. He joined an underground fighting ring, first as a solo fighter and then later a crew and therefore a gang. Anything to bring in an income. He works days as well, doing odd-jobs around the city and running his parent's old tome store. Which Heli helps out in, despite his protests. He knows that she works in secret, but there really isn't anything he can do about it and so he only confronts her when she's obviously over-working herself. He loves Heli a great deal, clearly, and sometimes has to be reminded that putting his own health at stake will not benefit her. Sometimes they have to pack up and travel to sell tomes and other books, which he doesn't like bringing her along for but he does for two reasons: 1) he can't bear to be that far apart from her for that long; and 2) to protect her. They never leave Renais's borders. He wishes he could afford to have her live as a princess, but does his best so that she's happy regardless. He's kept up the tradition of tucking her in at night. With Heli, he's pretty much a big softy. But to the public eye, when she's not around and he's not being professional, he's a grade a delinquent. Sarcastic, witty, arrogant, he often inspires fights outside of the ring. And inside the ring, he always has a way of getting the opponent to strike first. His strategy is to make the person blind with rage, risky but its all he has. He's strong, but just doesn't have the height or muscle advantage that the others have, so he uses his wit and flexibility and speed to his advantage. He never wants to see that side to him. Loyal, hard-working, and earnest when he can be. He regrets nothing about his choices, except maybe that he feels there's always a way for Heli to be happier.
