Although he's no old man, and is not the head councilman, he's definitely working on making himself the youngest leader of Carcino to ever be recorded.

His name means 'sun', and he working on making the symbolism behind that name a reality. Very ambitious, greedy and arrogant, he loves power and the thrill it gives him. But even Aelius has feelings, and they are mostly dedicate to his faction.

A note: as far as lovers go, Aelius is straight as an arrow when it comes to an emotional attachment, but he'll have fwbs with either gender. When he does finally settle down, it will probably be with a submissive girl. Aelius's ego is too large for him to stand being with a woman as equally bull-headed as he is, and the innocence of a submissive female would probably warm him in a romantic sense more than a confident and fiery personality. Just an observation to note for this particular char.

Despite his dedication to Aelius, he is not as eccentric and heartless. Conrad is much calmer, and more mature, making a good right hand for the leader, as he can often keep the other man under control when he feels Aelius has lost sight of reason.

It comes as no surprise that this man, who has a mature and yet sarcastic sense of humor, and who is older than his own leader, would be happily married. Although his wife -- in fact his entire family (wife+daughter) -- is something to chuckle at.

Well, meet his left. Everything that Conrad attempts to accomplish with Aelius, this is the man that most likely makes it all fall apart. Dieter is a bad mix with Aelius in the sense that he is very much like him. Sadistic, sarcastic, cruel, and arrogant, he is every negative aspect of Aelius personified. Even greedy.

However, he does have some redeeming qualities. He's loyal and dedicated, passionate about the things he cares for. This extends to his less-than-believing wife, who has come to respond to his sarcasm with her own. Actually, she always did that. It was her power that he fell in love with, and he remains loyal to her for it. That's not to say he doesn't flirt with others, he does, women and men alike. It just never goes past that.

He's surprisingly good at politics, and so he tends to take care of that for Aelius gladly. He is the kind of person who can make you think he's a lot nicer than he really is. And even still manages to give people shivers of wariness. Nobody can really understand how he's managed to get married, or even stay married for this long. Its a wonder to him too, but he wouldn't change it for all the money in the world. He fears change.

And his loyalty outweighs his greed.

His last name means 'strength', but everyone always teases him about it actually meaning 'nervous wreck'. Because he is. Lots of people don't know why he's even on the faction. Sure, he manages the accounts and the media and all of the political stuff Aelius has to do, but other than that Titus clearly doesn't fit in.

He's known Aelius for a very long time, all of his life actually and practically half of Aelius's. And so the two are very much like brothers, in an odd kind of way. Titus understands Aelius, and Aelius would give his life for Titus. The blonde would do anything he could to help Aelius, and in this case that's enough for Aelius.

He's less annoying and rebellious than his youngest brother, but that doesn't make him 'mature' either.

Flirty and fun-loving, he does love his night out in the town. Which often gets him in trouble with Caelia, who scolds him for delaying her setting the traps around the house at night. Although usually they're already laid out when he gets there, he just sneaks past them because he knows how she thinks.

And that is his talent, knowing how people think. Although he doesn't really get involved in Aelius's business, it is rather useful in a fight or when attempting to woe a woman.

Only Conrad and Aelius seem to have any success, and only because she greatly respects them. She often makes sarcastic and sometimes downright cruel comments to/about her mother, but when it gets down to it she is protective of her. She just doesn't get much of a chance to show it.

At the young of fifteen, she has made it to her current rank based on her skill with a sword and light magic, a rare ability to have in Carcino, where most fighters either fight with their fists or their swords. Although there are ballistae as well, Oda's talent makes her a valuable asset to Aelius, and she knows that. And even if that is all she will ever be to him, she's content with that.

It could easily be said that the young teen has a crush on her leader of sorts, but she knows better than to act on it. Instead channeling it into her magic to protect him.

Still, this one is very grumpy about the whole thing. He gives off a lazy air, but really he's just laid-back and easily annoyed. Just because he doesn't like moving off the couch when he's comfortable doesn't mean he's lazy! Nobody likes doing that!

Still, he's very serious about his job. Questioning him about it while off-duty won't earn you much of a response, but while on-duty...well...he might just bite your head off. Maybe not literarlly, but damn near.

Linza is, by definition, an air-head. Even she openly admits she's ditzy. However, she is very good at keeping and finding secrets (whether or not people approach her with them), definitely a skill both learned from her own mother and her past work at a brothel. It was there that she met -- and was rescued by -- Conrad.

She's a very upbeat and happy-go-lucky kind of person, which annoys the hell out of her 'boss' (since Aelius doesn't really consider her part of the faction) and even her own daughter. But, she is very loving, and therefore actually very loved. Even Aelius has proven to be protective of her. And certainly Conrad shields her with his life.

She is completely useless when it comes to fighting and politics, but she does know business and tourists. So she tries to help out by creating 'tourists traps', luring more attention to Aelius's territory and therefore making him more popular. Also, because of her innocent appearance, people tend to tell her things openly. Making her very good at gathering information.

Which is normally the case, since its just a big target.

She actually really likes cooking, so she doesn't mind it. And she takes the teasing remarks from her husband about how Aelius lets her do this out of pity with stride. Cooking isn't all she does either. She makes a very good body guard, because she loves coming up with booby traps. But she'll only rig the house every night once everyone in inside, and then take them apart when everyone leaves in the morning.
