Despite all of his faults and shortcomings it's pretty hard for most people not to like Salem to some extent and it's pretty hard for him to not like them. There are only a handful of souls that walk the world that the man loathes. He's given passage on his ship, the Morrígan, to all manner of traveler, usually leaving a lasting impression. For anyone willing to be his friend they will have to deal with Salem's odd sense of humor and erratic behavior. Sarcasm, practical jokes, and friendly teasing are all apart of the package that make up his roguish charm. That and his drunken shenanigans, which most would want to avoid. He's sure to have offended some noble by sinking one too many of their trade ships or perhaps by attacking one of their ships. At one point he dreamed of uniting two kingdoms with a marriage having several small crushes on the princesses of the neighboring kingdoms that surrounded Jehanna. The dream was abandoned when he left home however. Now he has resigned himself to one night stands and meaningless relationships. If he were to find a woman that he would have no idea how to go about it. His notions of courtly romance have all but vanished. He has no idea how to garner the attention of a common woman without using baubles or paying her. Anyone willing to spend even a portion of their life with the man must be able to put up with his time away. Leaving for the sea for months at a time and only returning for several weeks before leaving once more. At some point whoever Salem is with will have to deal with the fact that he is none other than the Prince, soon to be King, of Jehanna. Namely, the new generation of rulers. Having played with all of them as he grew older he has some sort of relationship with them. The most important person in Salem's life would have to be his confidant. Having a secret as large as his is no easy weight to bear. Salem needs to tell someone about his past as Roland. His time on the streets as a nameless urchin and then a brigand. This person will most likely serve as his shoulder to cry on, seeings as he usually drowns his problems in alcohol and will usually have a breakdown, depending on how intoxicated he is. We have already discussed these two... 'Nuff said as far as the actual plot goes. XD But, will she become a person, drifting through Salem's life? Or a more permanent member of his life, such as a crew member? Or even a confidant, or a potential lover? I know I probably sound like I have an idea, but I don't. XD Stick her wherever lolz. However, just keep in mind the stuff written in Ayaka's app and plotter, which is me referring to her trust issues and such. Plus, where Ayaka goes, KENSHIN DILIGENTLY FOLLOWS! So I guess the question here is: CAN SALEM HANDLE THE TRUTH? o.o

Pfffffft~ She'd totally kill him punch him in da face. 8'D Just because none of my charries like him, doesn't mean that I don't! ><As I said before, I can see him robbing from a ship that was carrying supplies for Ana's shop and her chasing him down to the border before sending Zilo after him. As an ex-soldier, she'd definitely try to kill him for it. XD Using her skills for justice of course! What else? Of course, on the same note, I can see her providing shelter for Salem from his enemies, after he repays her for the stolen goods of course unless Zilo manages to get them back. ^.^' So, I can see them having a rather odd...friendshipy...thing.... Yeah.... LOLZ.

Eija&&Salem
CHILDHOOD FRIENDS~ <3 YE-AH! We already discussed part of this...LOLZ. I can see Eija not completely recognizing him, but keeping an eye on him via spies and stuff. 'Cause she's hot stuff like that and there's nothing Fado can do to stop her. I can see her eventually finding out and then heading out to 'invade' his crew (since he'd prob recognize her right away) where she will then get them alone 'cause she's seductive like that and corner him, demanding to know why he looks so familiar and why she recognizes him. OR, she could point a sword at his throat and demand to know why he left for so long and them breakdown and throw weak punches to his chest, etc, etc. She'd eventually go back to Renais without him, but she would visit whenever he docked in her country. =] And though she'd be tempted to, she'd only give him financial support if he really needed it and asked for it.

Abel&&Salem
A mercenary and a merchant? Yeah, Abel and Salem are bound to have butt heads before. XD At least once or twice. Although, I can't say they'd like each other too much. Or, at least, Abel wouldn't like Salem. Still, I can see them, eventually, becoming friends? From bitter hatred stems friendship, didn't cha know? 8'D And I can see Salem being one of the few people he trusts with the knowledge of Estelle's (his little sister) existence. Maybe Abel is wounded in a way that prevents him from defending her properly? Either way, he'd definitely charge Salem with Estelle's life. And I can see, because of their weird bromance, Salem not trying to sex Estelle. XD Because Abel is unable (EH?? EH?? SEE WHUT I DID THERE?!?!) to protect her and she's really innocent and stuff. Plus, Salem doesn't seem like the type to take advantage of a sickly teenager. >3 So yeah, a bromance that stems from one-sided hatred and an occasional babysitter?[/ul][/size]

Ayaka // Salem

Well, we already know where this one is heading. We already know that Ayaka isn't going to be too fond of Salem in the beginning, for fairly good reasons. I can see her showing up a few times in his life, but not leaving a lasting impression until recently. Perhaps the ball or he just so happens to get in the on one of her assassinations. After that they'll start running into each other a bit more frequently and see Ayaka threatening him some more. As for how the Captain manages to worm his way into the woman's heart... that's a bit trickier. I can only assume that it's sheer persistence on his part. The relationship will probably start off at a slow pace if it ever does come around and in all honesty, it'll probably stay pretty similar to their earlier interactions. Of course, there's plenty of drama that can come up. Ayaka might be ordered to kill Salem, she could find out about his past, he might return home, he might even get shipwrecked. There's a lot that could be done.


Anahera // Salem

Salem couldn't pass up the opportunity to attack a ship. He's one of the most wanted men on the high seas for a reason. I can definitely see him being in an antagonistic relationship with her, especially if she's a merchant willing to fight back. That just makes it all the more fun for our daring rogue. In all honesty, Salem would probably hold on to the items and continue to run just for the fun of it. Eventually, I can see him apologizing in some odd way and giving the items back if no one retrieved them. I can actually see them getting along quite well after all of that attacking her ship business being put behind them. Salem isn't one for etiquette either. If she tries to hide him he'll most definitely try to pay her back somehow.

Eija // Salem

D'awwww, I can honestly see Eija being incredibly important to Salem. At least she was when he was still living it up as a prince. Hell, she'll probably become important all over again once she finds out that the mysterious red haired man is none other than Roland. During their childhood I can see them being incredibly close. Roland probably dragged her with him on his escapades getting her into all sorts of trouble. Though, he'd never actually let her get into too much trouble and try and shift all of the blame on to himself. I wouldn't be surprised if Roland didn't have a bit of a crush on her before running away. As for their future relationship, I think Eija would make a perfect confidant after his identity is revealed. It'd be much easier for her to believe his story seeing as she already knows the beginning and more likely to believe him. He'd probably be a bit overprotective of her once he does rekindle his friendship with her.
